What is a Fitness Assessment?
A fitness assessment consists of a Lifestyle  Health Screening History  and a 45-60 minute series of  tests which are used to measure your current health and fitness levels.   The tests are non-invasive and sub-maximal ensuring clients are comfortable at all times.  

What is the purpose?
  • A fitness assessment provides information on your baseline fitness level and allows for comparisons to standardized norms to individuals of the same age and
  gender.
  • Allows a  fitness instructor to develop an exercise program to fit your
  needs based on the fitness assessment results.
  • Motivates you to stick with the training program and allows for future
  re-testing to measure improvement.
  • The Lifestyle Health Screening History  is designed to identify any  concerns which require physicians clearance prior starting a regular exercise program.

What is measured?
  • Blood pressure
  • Body composition:
- height and weight
- body fat
- lean muscle tissue
- water ratios
  • Cardiovascular:
- resting heart rate
- aerobic fitness (sub-max) using a bike or treadmill
  • Muscular Strength & Endurance:
- Grip test to measure overall muscular strength
- Pushups to measure upper body strength
- Situps to measure core body strength
- Hamstring, lower back and shoulder flexibility tests
  • Lifestyle Health Screening History
- clients complete a comprehensive questionnaire involving a series of health, fitness and
                and lifestyle questions.  Topics covered include current diet and exercise regime; general
                health related risks such as smoking; physical ailments such as back, shoulder or knee
                issues. 

Comprehensive Analysis Report & Recommendations
A comprehensive report is provided to the client detailing the results of their tests.  Population norms are included in the report as a means of providing a baseline comparison. Recommendations for improving areas of concern are provided.  Our consultant will review the report with you and answer any questions you may have with respect to your results.
